The following link is an annual report regarding certification exams in the American College of Sports Medicine. Currently the ACSM has four certifications ; Certified Personal Trainer,  Certified Group Exercise Instructor, Certified Exercise Physiologist, and Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist. This annual report is about number of candidates in the each exam and pass rate, and so on. Members in certtification committee are also introduced in the report.

A trend forecast for health & fitness industry in 2023 has been announced by the American College of Sports Medicine. As this survey indicates, safe and effective exercise programs for the elderly population will increasingly become important in the future.

When I earned the EP cert, this textbook had not been published yet, thus I don't have this textbook, but this book looks to be well-written and helpful.

エクササイズ指導員に必要な基礎知識に関する教科書の内容はACSMのテキストもNSCAのテキストも大きな違いはないように思います。強いて言えばNSCAはアスリートや筋トレ志向の一般人向け、ACSMは総合的なフィットネス、及び　心臓疾患やメタボリックシンドローム等の疾患を持つ層へのエクササイズ指導を前提とした傾向がありますが。
僕が受験した当時はまだこの本は出版されていなかったので僕自身、この本は持っていませんが、とても良い内容の教科書のように思います。

Education requirement for ACSM Exercise Physiologist exam and ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiologist exam will change from August 2027. The amendment says more strict educational requirement is necessary to sit for the those two exams for further development of the fitness industry and exercise professionals.

ACSM エクササイズ・フィジオロジストおよびクリニカルエクササイズ・フィジオロジスト試験を受験するための受験資格が2027年8月より変更されます。
現在の受験資格ではエクササイズ・サイエンス関連の学士号またはそれ以上を持っていればよく、どこの大学のカリキュラムか？は問われません（クリニカルエクササイズ・フィジオロジストでは学位に加えて実務経験も必要）

健康科学分野の大学および院のカリキュラム内容等の学校間のバラつきをなるべく少なくし、一定基準を設けようとする動きがあり、CAAHEPという団体がコミッション的な役割をしています。

2027年8月以降は、ACSMの上記2資格を受験するためには、CAAHEPが認可した大学または院のエクササイズ・サイエンスコースを卒業していることが必要になります。CAAHEPの認可を受けている学校はまだあまり多くないですが、エクササイズ・サイエンス関連のプログラムを持つ学校は、このACSMの要件に合致するように、2027年までに認可を申請する学校が増えるものと思われます。
