Diary August 18th 2020

Today, I learned that the word " learn " has two forms of past tense, learned and learnt.
Until now, I was thinking that " learned " was the only past tense of " learn ". However, one of my online English tutors was using " learnt " in a lesson feedback from her. So, I noticed the presence of another past tense " learnt ". While I was learning in my graduate school in the USA, I didn't come across this word usage, thus, " learnt " is used in Europe or in the UK, I guess.

本日初めて知ったことなのですが、learn という単語には過去形が2種類あるんですね。learn の過去形・過去分詞はlearned だと思っていたのですが、learnt を使用しても良いようですね。オンライン英会話を受講するとレッスン後に講師からの一言アドバイスみたいなのが記載されるのですが、昨日の講師はレッスン記録の中でlearntを使用していたので、初めてlearnt という過去形もあるのだとわかりました。まだまだ学ぶべきこと沢山あります。
